Happy Belated Dearest M! Met up with the girls for dinner to celebrate M's post Birthday... It was really a good gathering after so long since my post-birthday Celebration in Jan? CY was really tired (加油 @ work & sleep MORE), and M was still as pretty (getting prettier too), while L still the same (Crappy but more 'girly')
The one and only outlet in SG - Charcoal @ St James Power Station.
Out of 3 set meals, we ordered two of the higher tier, one ala-carte dish - Yakitori. Drinks were normal for M- Fruit Punch, CY- Iced Coffee as usual, L-Magirita and Cranberry Juice for myself. Guess the bill for it after discount? A hole in the pocket with great disappointment!
5/10 for the price as quality was really on average for most of the items except for the Beef and Cod-fish which I liked. The rest, I guess I could have just buy them from an up-class Supermarket and DIY at home with my ah-ma stove? Oops... Not worth the bucks to self-BBQ la, eating 'burnt' food due to our 'good' cooking skills. Perhaps, expectations were raised higher since it's the only outlet in town with the pricing for both the quality and food presentation. Not expecting to cook the entire meal~ Sigh!
Anyway, plus pointers are the overall dining settings and ambiance. It's a good place for party-go-ers to chill and fill their stomach while getting ready, or post partying supper... definitely not a place for decent dinner.
Had dessert after the meal which were highly recommended by L, the Coconut ice-cream with Tao Suan and Herbal Jelly (Gui Ling Gao). Didn't try the Tao Suan (hot-cold combination), but both L n M liked it, so it must be good. The Coconut ice-cream and Herbal Jelly as per L, was self-made by the kitchen. Hmmm.. Herbal Jelly melts in your mouth as it was soft inside, unlike the usual ones we ate, was not as jelly textured~? Didn't really liked it, as it seemed to be a little not fully fridged. Coconut ice-cream, 6/10. Not a fan of Coconut and the ice-cream was already melting, more like drinking coconut milk instead of eating ice-cream. The spoon is not 'sharp' enough to scoop the ice-cream, just the cream in the spoon after scooping... but well, coconut lovers should liked it as the taste is strong.
Headed for MJ after that... Guess who's the winner? CY and M. Haha... out of the usual, both WS and I lost... cabby ride back and home-sweet-home.
Still being mad, yet feeling some emptiness in me on the way back from Bishan and flashes of the days where we rode a bicycle, walked or grab a cab back past by while waiting...
