In a blink, it's Chinese New Year again. Nothing much to look forward to this year as I am expecting the normal routine that has been fixed since I was young. I was very much looking forward to the Public Holiday though... It will be a very short week at work!
除夕: Time-tied. It was half day at work today, and I have several agenda on hands to accomplish after work. To have my super last minute shopping, go over to V's Mum place for early dinner and then, back to my place for my dinner. Went to Bugis with S after work while waiting for J. Walked several shops but didn't manage to buy anything! sigh~
Decided to meet J at Suntec to try my luck there and walked from Bugis to Suntec to save money as I forgot to bring my EZ link card. While waiting and walking around, I managed to grab a bottle of shimmering nail polish at $18.90 and some nail art designs at 3 for $10.00. Yeah... Clothes was still invalid as nothing caught my eye but doesn't matter as I'm giving up hope on it. Shops are closing yet J is still not here... A chance for me to change location to Marina Square, He-he!
Time flies when you are rushing and it's already 3plus when she reached. Got to leave at 4pm to AMK as she wanted to buy Mushroom for her dinner, before NTUC closes at 5pm~ We gave up the intention to take a cab as no cab is available for hiring at all, and decided to hope on 133 instead. Reached AMK exactly at 5pm and it took us an hour to reach. It's not the traffic, but the bus driver - he is simply streaming along the road. SLOW! As expected, J couldn't buy her stuff as we were late and with all shops closed, we headed to Mac for a drink...
Dinner at V's mum place was weird as I'm the only one eating. No one was at home... Food was as usual, yummy but too much for one. Prawns and duck was left untouched as I was kinda full with the soup, veg and rice being finished... Headed home for my own family steamboat~ Table was filled with dishes but I was too full to join in.
Watched Mediacorp's countdown show and heard the fireworks... Was supposed to head to Chinatown to grab CNY goodies as we didn't buy anything YET! However, all was too tired to move and only Sis and her Hubby went to join in the crowd. Being contented after Supper, I started my own Medicure session at 2am. Finished and fell asleep at around 4am.. Yawn! I was tired~
初一: Woke up at 11pm, with Ah ma calls ringing non-stop. Went to Ah ma place at Bishan, and how I missed those Bishan days... Supposed to go V's ah pek place but his parents have left when I called. Thus, stayed at Bishan whole day! Didn't do anything apart from the usual MJ, dinner, Dai Dee, Blackjack etc. Blackjack was ok, but... lost. MJ was plain boring and as a family bonding session. Lost too~ Finally, game ended and due to the prolonged sian-ness, I gave J a ring for movie/KTV. Well, it all came to a naught as it was either too late, too ex or fully booked. At the end of it, we decided to just stay at home and be it~ Sis came to fetch us home at 10pm after Mum finished the round of MJ. We continued Blackjack at home and I lost every bit of my red packet money. Lost so much so that I have to use the Jelly token as money to bet. Sob Sob... Proceeded to MJ, hoping to win back but again, I was being slaughtered by my brothers. =_="
初二: Went to May aunt place for dinner and food was great. Aunt and her maid cooked alot of delicacies. Printed quite a few photos from my HP via aunt's Canon printer. Printing was as good as going to a Kodak photo printing shop. Played Blackjack with my little nephew and man... he learn fast! Headed home at 10.30pm... continued MJ at home again. Hee!
初三: Stayed at home today, when the rest came over. Irene Aunt with my nieces, May Aunt and her family, Ah Pek and us. It was crowded... MJ and 881 throughout the day, with the yummy steamboat-ing.
初四: Stayed at home also, this time, Ah ma, Gu-gu, Gu-ma, Ah Pek came over. MJ as usual for the old folks, and Gu-ma cooked dinner for us. 1st time Lou Hei with them, and they have good culinary skills - slices by slices. Raw Sashimi, Abalone, and fine carrot and white radish slices was out in no time, to complement the ready-made Lou Hei.
Long weekend was simply wonderful and there it goes, we need to be back at work. Looking back, CNY celebrations was over. Had a simple CNY this year, no 'He-pan visit', fireworks nor countdown as usual, no major gathering but pure indulgence with my dearest... Too good to be true, I had a great bonding period with my crankiest family!
